Everyone with an interest in Madison is welcomed and encouraged to join. Becoming a member helps us preserve and share the history of our Rose City. 

Our membership year runs from June 1 to May 31 of the next year. We have a number of different membership levels (as shown at right and on the JOIN/RENEW form) – ALL of them share the following member benefits:

• Our newsletters with articles and news of programs and events, delivered to you (in print or digital form)

• Eligibility to serve on MHS Board of Trustees and Committees

• Volunteer Opportunities (See below and the JOIN/RENEW form)

• Support of the work of MHS to continue its work and fund programs

• 10% discount on all items sold by MHS

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are the reason we exist! For over 100 years volunteers have created, expanded and made the Madison Historical Society a vital part of our community. Our officers and workers are unpaid volunteers.

 As a member there are many ways to get involved.  Some are on-going while others are one-time or of short duration; all are focused on celebrating and promoting Madison history. To name a few: Bottle Hill Day, fundraising, research, cataloging, social media.  Perhaps you have special talents you would like to share.

You may have heard: we are opening a museum! The Madison History Museum will be located in the heart of downtown Madison, in the Hartley Dodge building.  Help us create this next and exciting addition to Madison.

You decide how and when to get involved.  We are grateful for volunteers as we continue our Madison history journey. The JOIN/RENEW form provides a list of volunteer opportunities. To express your interest, fill out that section – at any time.  You don’t have to wait until the end of the membership year!
