Madison: Then and Now

What did Madison look like fifty, seventy-five, one hundred years ago? What has changed? what has remained remarkably unchanged?

Embark on a journey through time with us and discover a bit of Madison’s past for yourself. You may be surprised.

The project consists of old photographs of sites in Madison taken decades ago. Each older photo is accompanied by a recent photo taken by members of the project team replicating the perspective. Included with most of the photo pairs is a brief description of the site and its place in Madison history. This is an on-going project with new photos being periodically added.
